Industry Perspective From One Coast to The Other: Blog Exchange with accomplished Washington photographer Zach Nichols
2020 has been quite the strange year for all of us with some industries getting pushed to near stand-still from the virus. The wedding photography industry is right in the middle of it! I spoke recently with my buddy and superbly accomplished photographer in Washington State, Zach Nichols. (www.instagram.com/zachicholz). As artists and, in general, humans it is good to take account of your journey. Tell your story. Recall where you have come from, where you are and where you are inspired to go. Times like Quarantine can push you to strain in your vision for your life. Some will say[...]
Wrightsville Beach Intracoastal Waterway Engagement Photo Shoot – Chelsea and Dalton
This engagement session was simply epic. Beautiful sunset, beautiful location and drop in a beautiful couple = perfection! Chelsea and Dalton wanted to do two engagement sessions to get a few options for their Save-the-Dates. We chose a dock location off the Intracoastal Waterway for this session and got lucky on a beautiful evening with just enough pop of color in the sky. They were totally down to get wet which brought some magic. See images below of a beautiful love and connection. The thing I like personally is getting couples out of their head about having a camera on[...]
Wrightsville Beach Engagement Session with Gina & David
Gina and David got engaged at a Michael Franti concert at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater in Wilmington, North Carolina. I was shooting the show and was able to capture it all as Michael was in on the surprise. Fast forward through meeting up and booking me as their wedding photographer to lining-up an official engagement session. We decided to start at the Yacht Club on Wrightsville Beach and then take in magic hour down on the south end of the beach. Gina and David have an amazing connection which you can see through the images. They both command great personalities[...]

Bekah and Jason celebrated their 10-year anniversary recently and I love that they were up for a photo session to commemorate this beautiful moment. In today's world it truly is a feat to work love and commitment into the crazy world of the everyday. Huge blessings and props go out to this couple and their beautiful connection. Hope to see them for another session in 10 more!
Johanna and Charley’s Wedding – Wilmington Courthouse / Greenfield Lake
I had the privilege of documenting an intimate and special ceremony for Johanna and Charley. Starting from the Wilmington Courthouse to some post wedding shots at beautiful Greenfield Lake, it was a beautiful beginning to their life together. Take a walk through the beginning of forever for these two!
Sharise and Quinton’s Wedding Day September 7th, 2017
Sharise and Quinton reached out to me early February 2017 about documenting their big day that coming Steptember. We lined-up an engagement session that summer and then had their big day at Wrightsville Manor in Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach, NC. Talk about a beautiful day and a stellar couple. These two showed nothing but class, style and love for each other. One of my favorites of the year! Walk the memory lane of a very special day! Big thanks to Wrightsville Manor, Active DJ, Gather Events NC and Party Suppliers for rocking out a beautiful wedding!
Wrightsville Beach Engagement Session – Hana and Wyatt
Did you know that the one person you will spend the most time with on your wedding day other than possibly your significant other is your photographer? It makes picking your documenter of your wedding day an important decision that also affects the vibe of your big day! Hana and Wyatt reached out to me to shoot their wedding and I encouraged an engagement session. They wanted to get some images for Save-the-Dates and I wanted a chance for us to work together and form some good vibes that we would continue toward making their wedding day easy and smooth.[...]
Engagement Session with Kyle and Jen
We had an epic sunset engagement shoot this weekend! I had spoke with Jen and Kyle about shooting their engagement photos and we had planned to do so around the holidays but frigid temps and scheduling conflicts kept us from being able to do so. There was a reason for this, as there usually is in life! Our rescheduled session was a meant-to-be sunset with epic backdrop of the island where they got engaged! Yes, we shot with that island in view. Truly a beautiful and passionate session!
